Browsing in a local Family Christian Store, I noticed this book. I have been reading up on how to start my own information marketing business online, but I bought a copy of this book, even though it is a little more general. The chapter on determining which home business is right for you is excellent. There are work sheets at the end of each chapter so you need a pen! and some paper if you don’t want to scribble in the book itself. She offers really solid advice to anyone interested in pursuing an online auctions business, affiliate marketing, information products online, or direct sales or network marketing. I am interested in starting my own information products business online. I recommend using this book in conjunction with the following titles:

Donna’s book is a GREAT starting point. It would make a great text for a small group study or class for women (and men!) interested in getting started in their own home based businesses.

I think a lot of Christian home business books focus a lot on business models that are outdated and easily outsourced overseas (i.e. virtual assisting is dead – anyone can hire a virtual assistant for $2 an hour or less overseas). Donna doesn’t rehash old outdated business models. She emphasizes only those that have a strong possibility of creating real income and independence for you and your family. These businesses have strong potential for creating passive income and automation. Service businesses have limited income potential due to your time commitments to your family (i.e. if you want to spend more time with your family, you can’t make as much money with a service based business). It is best to create a business that you can eventually limit to the Tim Ferris work week model of one day a week or less. Donna teaches you how!
