Did you know there are now more college-educated English speaking people in India then in the United States?
And did you know they are, for the most part, far better educated according to every statistical measure? Surely you know they’ll work for a fraction of what it costs to hire Americans. Corporations certainly know these things. Pick up the phone to make a reservation or for technical support. Ask where the person is sitting…it’s rarely in America these days. Any job that can be outsourced overseas will be. If you don’t believe that, you are in denial. These are all Middle Class jobs…and they are leaving. If you don’t believe jobs can leave, go visit Detroit. Once upon a time, more than 2 million people enjoyed wonderful Middle Class lifestyles in Detroit thanks to the auto industry. Those jobs left; today, 2 million people live in grinding poverty in Detroit. If you think I’m exaggerating, watch this chilling video:
What you see in that video is about to be duplicated all over this country. There are literally ghost towns out here in Arizona where I live. Entire neighborhoods filled with foreclosed homes and empty shopping centers. It’s happening. When the trillion dollar deficits catch up with us—and they will—there will be shanty towns. In fact, there already are growing shanty towns under California freeways. There’s a small shanty town near the intersection of the 101 and 202 in Phoenix. It happened in America before; it will happen again. And soon.
When the Middle Class disappears in America–and it has already vanished from nearly 30 once-prosperous cities including Detroit, Memphis, Camden, Cleveland–all that will remain are two options:
Option 1: Grinding poverty and bondage
Option 2: Wealth and freedom
My guess is, you would prefer Option 3—the middle ground.
You certainly don’t want to endure extreme poverty. But then again, you don’t want to be too rich, because we’ve all been taught that “For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs” (1 Timothy 6:10). Of course, it’s equally true that many people who have money—but don’t love it—have done a world of good. We rarely here this quotation, but it’s also in the Bible: “Money is the answer for everything" (Ecclesiastes 10:19) Go rent the movie, The Blind Side, and decide if Michael Oher was better off in poverty or wealth. Or talk to missionaries and find out how many of them could remain on the mission field without funding from people who have something called money. Meet with the leaders of non-profits and ask them if they have a shortage of impoverished people who need help…or people with wealth to fund their work. As an advocate for Food for the Hungry, I already know the answer. But check it out for yourself.
Having worked among the poorest of the poor around the world, I can promise anyone reading these words: there is nothing noble about poverty. It is rooted in darkness. It is not God who wants people reduced to conditions we wouldn’t allow for our pets; it is the one who hates people who relishes such suffering. It comes from stealing, killing and destroying…and leads to more of the same. If you think poverty is wonderful and wealth is evil, come travel with me when I go to the poorest nations on the earth. (Or just watch the Detroit video a few more times.)
Everyone needs to decide right now: poverty and bondage…..or wealth and freedom.
The Middle Ground is fast disappearing in America. If you don’t believe it, you are doomed to bondage. If you are interested in Option 2, please consider joining my Freedom Team. Email donna@donnapartow.com noting Freedom Team in the subject line. Meanwhile, obtain a copy of my latest book, Making Money From Home along with the companion 8-hour audio series, The Home Business Success Coaching Program—both of these resources are based on my 21 years of experience working from home.
Be forewarned: Freedom isn’t free. So please don’t email me and ask me who will "hire you" to work from home (the answer is: no one) or how you can make $3,000 a month overnight with zero investment and minimal effort. I’m tired of reading those emails; I already have a stack of them a mile high. That’s the kind of thinking that leads straight to Option 1. Don’t take my word for it. Here’s how the Bible puts it: "He who works his land will have abundant food, but the one who chases fantasies will have his fill of poverty" (Proverbs 28:19) But if you are done chasing the fantasy that life will always be as it has always been in America; or that someone is going to hand you a great life on a silver platter just because you were born in the right country, let me know. If you are ready to roll up your sleeves and get to work, I can empower you to thrive in the coming season. More people became millionaires during the Great Depression than any other period in American history. When the Middle Class disappears, only Option 1 or Option 2 remain.
Decide now while options are still available.
NOTE: The morning after I initially wrote this post, it was announced that home foreclosures rose 35% nationwide.
